Finally they feed me!

They've tortured me since I was born--I've had to watch while everyone else gets real food and I just get milk. Tonight I finally got a taste of the good stuff. Okay, so maybe they didn't give me any of the pear and gorgonzola pizza or wine, but I still had a darn good time with my rice and banana cereal. Can't you tell?

I thought it was especially cool when Tia TJ let me know that it wasn't just rice and banana cereal, but those bananas are actually something called 'potassium sticks.' Whatever. I just like getting it all over my face.

New Trick!

Every day I get to discover something new. I've always noticed those flailing things at the end of my legs... I've even played with them sometimes. But who knew that I could put them in my mouth? I mean, I've never seen any of the big people do that--all they seem to do is shuffle them along on the ground. I'm not sure why they don't chew on them; I think it's pretty fun.

And I guess my mommies must think it's fun that I chew on them, since out came that flashing thing again, and I'm beginning to get that they usually do that when they like whatever I'm doing.

One of the best things about this weekend was that I got to play with Auntie Heather again. I really love when she comes to visit--she pays A LOT of attention to me. I think that she might not even mind that mostly I'm the center of attention. I just don't understand why she has to live in that really rainy place all the way across the country. Doesn't she know that I miss her?

Welcome to the Jungle

I love my Mama Melissa & Mommy Mindy, but to tell the truth we all need a break every now and then. That's why they went to the movies...and I got to go back to Mimi Marina's & Tia TJ's house!

As I mentioned before, my home away from home is in a part of the vast andcolorful D.C. urban jungle known as Petworth. So naturally, I learned about pets!
Mimi has an African Grey named Greta, but for some reason Tia just calls her Mean Bird. The parrot puffed her feathers when she saw me so Tia wouldn't let me go close or put my fingers in her cage...Instead she just held me tight and hugged me, muttering something about Mimi's taste in flying rodents.

Then I met this cute and furry orange thing named Catarina. At first I was a bit worried; I didn't know that was what you called a "kitty." But then I realized that she's just a scaredy cat, and I had nothing to fret over. Catarina inched near my play yard and I was ready to share my space, but instead she just bolted the other direction and I never saw her again. Maybe we can play another time.

I still wanted more creatures, so Tia TJ turned on Animal Planet and told me all about the lions and cubs she played with in Zimbabwe. I can't believe all the different kinds of pets that live in the world! I think the monkeys are my favorite, because they get to make funny faces, eat mushy bananas and they can swing from trees. I'm going to ask my mommies for one as soon as I can talk. Tia said they would say yes!

And just WHEN are they going to take me to meet Tai-Shan??? Do they thinkI don't know what a ZOO is??

Look Moms...no hands!!

What I love about this Hanukah present is that I am in control! And boy, oh boy, is that fun...I get to play with whatever toy I want to, I can spin around in circles, I can stand on my own two feet. I mean, it doesn't get any better than this. Okay, well it might get a little tiny bit better when I get to eat as much as I want and then fall asleep on Mama Milk Jugs...(oops, meant to say Mama Melissa!)

I Love LA!! And all my LA family...

I get to have the coolest parties thrown for me, with all the best LA hipsters. My Zadie and my Grammy Suzanne had all my LA people (and a few very special out-of-town folks) over so that I could meet them...or, maybe I should say, so they could meet me! As always, I had a blast--I got carried around and loved all afternoon. What could be better? And I realized once again that I am a darn lucky guy to have so many great people in my family. Thanks so much Zadie and Grammy!! (sadly, I don't have pictures of everyone...but here are a few that I did get...)

Surf's up!

So my mommies took me to Malibu for my first beach experience. We went with my Nisha masi and Clyde the doberman. We went at sunset and I thought it was great until my mama put my feet in the VERY COLD water. I screamed and screamed shortly after this photo was taken -- what was she thinking????

Because I liked the beach so much we went to Santa Monica the next day and I got my diaper changed at the most picturesque place yet!
