Yesterday was beautiful in the National Capital. Sunny, blue skies, and a balmy temperature. So I got to go play down on the Mall with my Mommies! First they took me to some thing at this big round museum (the Hirschorn) called Task. It seemed like lots of people running around doing funny things. Like large groups of people running with scissors while yelling "Don't run with scissors." (My mommies said that I'm not allowed to do this.) And then there was something that Mama Melissa called a Maypole. There was also a sketch artist and a plan to shoot rubber bands at a ladder. Seemed kind of funny...but I always love to see lots of people doing lots of things. And I got to eat bananas while I was there which made it even better!
After watching for a while we got to go over to a merry-go-round! I wasn't sure what exactly was going to happen. I mean, I can't sit up on a plastic horse all by myself...but then Mommy Mindy took me and sat on the horse with me. And I got to go up and down and round and round while Mama Melissa watched (and even made a video). What fun!!

When I'm Not On The Swings I'm Socializing
Okay, so swings might be close to my favorite thing...but hanging out with my buddies is even better. And I've gotten to do a lot of that lately!!
Let me start with some unexpected socializing. My Mommy Mindy, my elf Diana, and I all went out to see the bluebells in bloom on April 11 (I know, I know...I've been slow with the photos). But who did we run into along the way? Mommy Mindy's friend she hasn't seen in years, Jame! And she, of course, was very happy to meet me.
But, we did have a little bit of trouble on our way home. Some plastic splash guard under the car partly fell off and dragged on the pavement...while we were driving on I-66! Elf Diana was very ingenious and figured out how to rig it up--at least until we could get home--with a piece of an umbrella, a camera case strap, and some dental floss. Yes, dental floss. The only really frustrating part was that she and Mommy Mindy made me stay trapped in my car seat in the car while they got to do everything fun. I screamed a lot, but they still wouldn't let me out. I could have helped too--I like to play with bits of plastic and camera straps!

But fortunately I've had a lot of fun getting to play with Aunt Heather (visiting from Seattle again...just to see me, of course, even though she pretends to be working), Aunt Monica (visiting from Toronto), my buddy Naveh, and my buddy Alex. This is the life!
News Flash....I'm Gonna Have Teeth!
Breaking News....
My mommies felt a little tiny sharp point poking out of my lower gum this morning. I think this means I'm gonna have teeth! Can't see much yet...but it's definitely sharp. Yippee!
Mama Melissa seems worried....something about me biting her. I thought she was supposed to be happy about my developmental milestones. Go figure.

Have I Mentioned I'm An Extrovert?
I've had such a good time hangin' out with all my buddies recently that I haven't even had time to post the photos!! So here goes...
First I got to play to play with Aunt Stacey a couple of weekends ago. Stacey's the most fun...I think she might even have a smile bigger than mine!
Then I got to play with my elf. And she wore my hat and I wore hers! Hats are the funniest--they make people's heads look so silly. I hate wearing hats...but I love to laugh when others do.
Last weekend Aunt Heather came to town, and as always, we had a blast. I have to say that Heather did upstage me as the center of attention when she drove the red car over the stone wall by the driveway. Mama Melissa used all her physics skills, two jacks, some boards, and a LOT of determination to solve that problem!
After Heather left, Diana, Mary, Robin and I got to hang out and enjoy the beautiful sunny day. Okay, well maybe they enjoyed the day...but I really enjoyed my little nap!
And I've gotten to go to AU lots and lots recently. I think it has something to do with Mommy Mindy having agreed to go back on a part-time basis to help out with some awards ceremony. Whatever...I love it because it means that I get to hang out with my buddies, like Frances and Matt! And run into Aunt Heidi walking across campus. What more could I want?

do these diapers make my butt look cute?
My mommies decided to try the new g-diapers. They are supposedly a cross between cloth and disposables, and better for the environment. I have two covers -- red and orange, my favorite colors! What do you think -- doesn't my butt look cute in the g-diaper?
