Tio Julio

My Tio Julio has been visiting. I'm so excited -- I haven't seen him since I was two weeks old! He's been traveling around the world having fun. I'm having fun with him now that he's back. He's showed me very important information, like where to get good food (like sushi) to eat. Don't worry, I didn't eat the raw fish just yet -- it's just for the photo. Give me a few years.... I did like the rice, but I hated the miso soup.

Mugshot

Okay...so here's my passport photo. I look kinda cute, don't I? Would you let me into your country?

Tricia and Tonja

I finally got to meet Tricia and Tonja -- I've been waiting! They came to see me (well, I guess they came to see Tio Julio and my mommies too) and bring me my great new green sweater. Tonya knitted it herself, just for me! I had a great time playing with them. I hope they come back soon.

Dadadadadadada

Everyone seems to think that I can't do anything but babble, but I've been trying to tell my mommies all along that I really wanted to go see the Dada exhibit. I'm not sure why it took them so long, but they finally managed to catch on. So, last Friday we headed off to the National Gallery of Art for a bit of culture. I liked the flickering film images the best, but there was a pretty nifty spiralling fan type object that also caught my attention. And the program was really, really fun to play with--they had me in mind when they made it red and white!

I look so little next to this big, hanging revision of the Mona Lisa by Duchamp...and her hands look so gigantic next to us!

Oi!

Here I am in my new Brazil outfit with two of my favorite Brazilians. I put on my new outfit to send my Mimi Marina off to Brazil, where my Tia TJ will soon go to meet her. Of course, I am also half Brazilian, and Tio Julio and Mommy went to the Brazilian embassy this week to make sure they know. I am officially a Brazilian citizen until my 18th birthday, then I get to choose whether I want to continue to be a Brazilian citizen. I think I will -- I like the colors green and yellow -- my nursery walls are painted those colors.

I'm a shrimp

I'm officially a shrimp -- I took my first swimming "shrimp" class last Saturday at the Y.

The water was a little cold, but I got to play with a blue boat and a big yellow thing called a noodle.

I was only skeptical when my moms followed the instructor's directions and put my face in the water. Why would anyone want to do that? Especially when there is a yummy blue boat to chew on.

The best part was I got to wear my new cute swimming trunks.

Here's me in action...

I love baths!

One of my favorite things to do is take a nice, long bath with lots of toys. I especially love my ducks. I have several, including a very small orange one, a medium size yellow one that tells my moms when the water is too hot, and a large yellow one that lists to one side when it floats.

Sometimes I'm not ready to get out of the tub when my mama takes me out, so I hold onto my bath seat with both hands and stick my legs out very straight. This makes it very hard for her to get me out. When she finally does, I cry because I want to go back in the bath. She tells me that I just have to wait until tomorrow night.

And of course, there needs to be a video...
